Ticketing, a membership card and door check-in for the Raise Next summit

Raise Next brings founders and investors together in Montréal. For Zeltra Group, J3B Web built the bilingual site, the founder applications, the ticketing, the door check-in, the membership card and the back office.

The starting point

The summit had to sell tickets online, receive founder applications, sell memberships and welcome attendees at the door. J3B Web brought it all into one system, with a ticket sales opening date set in advance.

Taxes had to be exact, with GST or HST and QST, and the ticketing could never sell more seats than the event has.

Three problems solved

  1. 01

    No seat sold twice

Stripe can send the same payment confirmation twice. Each one is recorded only once, and only it counts the seat as sold. If the last seat goes while another payment is finishing, that payment is refunded automatically.

  2. 02

QR codes that show in every inbox

Many email apps block remote images and the SVG format. So each ticket’s QR code is attached to the email as a PNG image.

  3. 03

    Two volunteers, one ticket

At the door, two volunteers can scan the same ticket at the same moment. The check and the admission happen in a single database operation, so only one of the two scans succeeds.
